How much of a perfectionist are you? Not sure? These quotes about perfectionism might make you realize that you keep waiting for perfect timing that will never come.

What is perfectionist thinking?

Here are a few of the thoughts that run through a perfectionists mind:

  • The product is not good enough yet; there is no way people would want to buy that.
  • I should probably sleep a night over it before handing it in to ensure there are no mistakes I’ve overlooked.
  • I can’t believe how much time and money I’ve spent on my website design, and I’m still not happy with it; maybe I should have focused more on the actual content.

Many people use perfectionism as an excuse for procrastination.

The next task they need to do is an uncomfortable one, so instead, they stay stuck on the previous step in the name of ‘perfecting’ it.

You must become real with yourself and analyze whether you really need this to be perfect or if you are simply scared of the next step.

How to overcome perfectionism

The root cause of perfectionism is often a fear of failure and fear of judgment.

But people will always judge you, no matter what you do. And failure is important for success. Without a healthy amount of it, you won’t be able to reach your full potential.

That’s why you need to overcome the fear of failure. But, as uncomfortable as it is, the best way to do that is by failing repeatedly.

Soon enough, you’ll realize that failure is not the end of the world but rather the beginning of something better.

So stop waiting for the right time. There is no perfect time to start.
